Radlett

The staff at First Place Radlett are highly qualified and experienced in Early Years. Through in house training, and further qualification training staff keep up to date with developments in children’s care and education as well as developing professionally. Staff take time to develop close working relationships with parents that enables an exchange of information about the children which contributes to their individual Learning Journals.

After registering your child you will receive an offer of a place, subject to availability. Once accepting the offer your child will begin their nursery experience at Radlett from the age of two, spending their first year in our Pluto and Mars rooms where children play together in a safe, happy and positive environment. Staff ratio in Pluto and Mars is 1 adult to 4 children. While at First Place they will be assigned to a key worker who, along with parents, will compile a record of your child’s Learning Journal including observations, work and photographic evidence.

Once the children reach three years old they will transfer to one of our three to fives rooms; Saturn and Jupiter. Staff ratio in these rooms is 1 adult to 8 children maximum. The nursery environment enables the children to develop their independence, concentration and creative thinking skills. Our curriculum is structured, balanced and purposeful. It inspires children to engage in a fun and challenging way as they progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We have a well-resourced outdoor area which provides numerous planned activities to extend the children’s development in all areas of the curriculum.

We maintain good relationships and links with the surrounding state and independent schools and are proud of the smooth transitions this enables the children to achieve. As your children become ready to transfer to their next stage of education there will be opportunity for parents to discuss future school choices.

At Radlett First Place we provide a high quality education for young children within a happy, challenging and nurturing environment in which each chid can reach their full potential.
