As well as free play, the babies can explore different areas within the room, including sensory spaces, a home corner, and cosy story areas. By providing the babies with a wide variety of experiences involving all the senses, this encourages learning and an interest in their environment. Treasure baskets are particularly popular with babies as they enjoy exploring a variety of textures, patterns, shapes, and sizes.

The babies have access to their dedicated outside space every day, allowing time outdoors in a garden where they can develop their physical skills and explore the world around them in a safe environment.

The baby rooms at First Place all have a separate, designated sleep room for naps, which is beneficial for a baby's continuity of care between home and nursery. Nursery staff will also, as much as possible, accommodate your baby's home sleep routines.

The baby room staff teams are warm and caring, with a deep understanding of child development and know how to playfully interact at their level, supporting them to develop in all the prime areas of learning. Our amazing 'Family app' software system enables you to receive observations, updates, and send and receive messages on your phone. As a parent, you will be reassured throughout the day, seeing your baby's sleep times, nappy changes, mealtimes, and personal newsfeeds.
