Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) outlines the standards that we must meet for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5.

The EYFS does not require us to work differently from the way we always have; the way that has guaranteed future success for our little graduates. We share its principles, which are already embedded in our practice and we take time to stay up to date with research and developments in the early years, adopting a continuous review-evaluation-development cycle for continuously improving our programme.

The EYFS sets the framework for our First Place curriculum, which aims to make learning fun. Children enjoy planned and child initiated activities that are both exciting and educational. Staff support the children with their learning and development to prepare them not only for school but for future life experiences and for them to be able to cope emotionally and physically with new challenges. Our children will be encouraged to be motivated learners, take risks, experiment, explore and to become confident in reaching their full potential.
